One of the most common questions we get at HEM APPAREL is:
“How long will the full production take?”
While every project is different depending on design, fabric, and order size — a typical custom apparel order follows a predictable structure. Here’s a realistic week-by-week breakdown so you can plan your collection with confidence.
🗓️ Week 1: Tech Pack Review & Quotation
-
You submit your tech pack or product idea
-
We clarify design details, fabric options, trims
-
You receive MOQ, unit cost estimate, and lead time confirmation
✅ Tip: The clearer your tech pack, the faster this step goes.
🗓️ Week 2–3: Sample Development (Fit / PP Sample)
-
We source fabric (stock or custom-dyed)
-
Sample is developed (based on tech pack)
-
Feedback & revisions as needed until approval
✅ Some clients approve after 1 round; others take 2–3. Be ready to iterate.
🗓️ Week 4–6: Bulk Production
-
Final materials are purchased
-
Cutting, sewing, printing/embroidery begins
-
In-line QC is done to catch any issues early
✅ Delays here are often caused by pending client confirmations or last-minute changes.
🗓️ Week 7: Final QC & Packing
-
Products are finished, steamed, labeled, packed
-
Final QC to check measurements, stitching, defects
-
Cartons prepared for export (FOB/CIF/Door-to-door)
🗓️ Week 8+: Shipping & Delivery
-
We ship via your selected method (air, sea, local)
-
Tracking and documents sent
-
Optional: top-of-production sample retained for reference
🧠 HEM APPAREL’s Tip:
Always factor in extra time if you’re customizing fabric, printing multiple artworks, or launching your first-ever product. A well-planned timeline means less stress and better results.
